About Me

Creator of Savvy SilverHi everyone!  I am so excited to have a place to showcase my handmade jewelry designs ...

A little history about me first though ... I have lived in Northeast Ohio for almost all of my life.  As for my artistic beginnings, I remember I could always draw rather accurate renditions of different subjects, but I was more focused on the traditional school subjects.  I loved being creative but had lots of other interests through my school years.  However, in my late 20's, I gradually became more and more interested in being creative.  A great neighborhood friend, who happens to be a fabulous artist, encouraged me to paint in acrylics.  From then on, I developed my skills and experimented in many different mediums.

So, I have been an artist for over a decade.  Although I began my art career as an acrylic painter, I have delved into many mediums, like so many other creative people (painting, crafting, carpentry, photography, interior design, and ultimately, jewelry making).  I have included some of my other works in the Photo Gallery for fun, so you should go take a look!  You can click on my paintings by clicking on the "Paintings" link on the top or bottom gray navigation bar or on the above link "acrylic painter".

As for becoming a jewelry artist and making handmade jewelry, it happened suddenly for me and I had an instant passion for it.  While I was on vacation in Cabo, Mexico, a friend brought tons of supplies with her so that we could create handmade jewelry.  Once she showed me how, we were up until the early hours of the morning working on our designs and I was obviously hooked!  As soon as I came back to Ohio, I immediately went out and purchased supplies for myself.   There was a definite learning curve, but the process has been addictive and fulfilling.  I believe that my past experiences in other mediums have helped me to create unique one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets and earrings with lots of style, paying special attention to color, composition and overall balance in my handmade jewelry designs.  I absolutely LOVE silver and this precious metal is a staple of my designs.

I hope you enjoy browsing ... Thanks!
