May 16, 2010 Featured in Fellow Etsians Blog Well, I was surprised, but delighted when a fellow Etsian, Karen Lobo, asked if I would like to be featured in her blog. Um, that is not a hard one, but I did want to find out what her blog was all about before I contributed. She has a great style and fun conversation on her blog site and I am looking forward to her actually publishing it. What she did was ask me a whole bunch of ?'s, and I poured my heart and soul out! So, I will let you know when it comes out and provide a link. Other than that, I was up until 4:30am last night, staring at the computer again. The trouble with Etsy is: IT IS ADDICTIVE. I have never been on there for more than a minute or so until I decided to set up Shop as SavvySilver at: Now I am finding out about the number of views to my items and that people "heart" things they like ... or love. Actually, my goal today is to stay away from the computer as much as possible. I have been working so much on listing, photographs, updating my site, etc. that I haven't taken a real break in weeks. Well, the sun is shining and I need my cup of tea. So, I am going to make the most of the day, which may include making some jewelry!! I just had to show you what a pretty day it is in eastern Ohio ... June 3, 2010 My first sale on Etsy! Well, I made my first sale on Etsy on June 1st and I couldn't be happier. She found me through Facebook and signed up just to buy my earrings (see below):
I couldn't wait to ship them off to her, however, she purchased them the same day I went back in for more dental surgery (complications from having my wisdom teeth removed) and I had general anesthesia for this surgery so I was in no shape to do anything other than sleep. Luckily, I was feeling good enough the next day to get right on it and put together her package for her. Although there was a lot to do, it was a fun day getting everything together. I have business cards for this website, however, I had not put together promotional material for Etsy because I was so new to it. I did have in mind what I wanted to do for her though. I included a thank you card and a business card from Etsy, along with my "Savvy Silver Jewelry Webstore" business card. I used the same promotional picture as I have for my Etsy Shop Banner and Avatar, but with text as well.
Believe it or not, this took a good portion of the day because I had to figure out which pictures to use, how I wanted to format them, the size, etc. and all of that takes some trial and error. In any case, I was very happy with the results! The only problem was I was seriously still not 100% from the surgery and I was having trouble understanding Paypal's accounting methods when I put together her invoice. It is truly confusing and I was a bit shaky (and my face hurt!!) yesterday when I sent her package out. I did send her two follow up emails, and would you believe it? - both links were dead links even though they worked when I tried them. It was so frustrating and I didn't want to look unprofessional. Bottom line though is that you have to try your hardest and just hope for the best. I really want her to be excited about her purchase because it is so exciting for me as well. Today, I am going back into the office to send her a revised purchase receipt and hopefully everything is good! After that, I am really in the mood to make more jewelry. Later!

100 Items on Etsy!! Well, I haven't posted in a while ... I have been creating new jewelry, photographing 1000's of pics and formatting the best of them. Even though I signed up for Etsy in February of this year, having my wisdom teeth removed slowed me down for a few months. I began writing my shop policies and loading my jewelry on May 3rd. Today, I finally achieved the *100 ITEM* threshold!! Yay. It was such hard work, but worth it. I now have a real variety of jewelry styles and price points to offer potential buyers. Here are a few of my newer items:
